THE EVALUATION OF THE PATIENTS WITH NEUROBLASTOMA IN ÇUKUROVA REGION

This study was carried out at Çukurova University, Department of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology between January 1991 and March 2001 and 57 patients who were diagnosed with neuroblastoma or ganglioneuroblastoma were included in the study. This study was planned to be a retrospective analysis. Thirty-five of 57 patients (61.4%) were boys, 22 of them (38.6%) were girls. They were in the ages between 2-132 months (average 49.4 ± 37.9 months). In 80.8 % of patients, the tumor was located intraabdominaly. Ninety-eight percent were stage IV (55 patients), one patient was (1.8%) stage III and one patient (1.8%) was stage IVS. Overall survival (OS) for 12 months was 70%, OS for 18 months was 50% and OS for 24 months was 22%. Event free survival was 17%, 15%, 11% respectively. The same ratio was observed until 120 months.
