Although hyperkoagulable states are most often associated with venous thrombosis, it can be possible related with ischemic stroke especially in young patients. In this review, we will discuss the relationship between protein C (PC), protein S (PS) and anti-thrombin III (ATIII) deficiency, factor V leiden (FVL) gene mutation, prothrombin G20210A gene mutation, anti-phospholipid antibodies and ischemic stroke.
