Extraneural metastasis is a rare (0.5%) event in primary intracranial tumours. Glioblastoma accounts for 45% of all extraneurally metastasizing malignant glial tumours. Most of the metastases are observed in lung, lymph nodes, bone, liver and pleura. Twenty six years old male patient had been operated in April 1992 due to a left parietal intracranial mass. Six months later a recurrent mass has been observed and biopsy has been performed followed by subtotal excision and further 60 Gy postoperative radiotherapy. After a nine months follow-up period cervical bilateral lymphadenopathy and a mass at the right thoracic wall appeared. Biopsies revealed metastatic dissemination of the glioblastoma. Cranial tomography demonstrated a recurrent mass, in thoracic tomography multiple metastases in the left and right thoracic wall, eight dorsal vertebra, left pulmonary parenchyma and pleural effusion have been observed. In contrast to the disseminated disease, no deterioration was observed in the general status of the patient. All the pathologic material were again evaluated and the diagnosis for metastatic glial tumour verified.
