Measurement of deoxyribonucleic acid ( DNA) content and synthesis phase fraction (SPF) has strong and independent prognostic significance. DNA hyperdiploidy is especially associated with a favorable prognosis in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). In this study, DNA content and fraction SPF were analysed by flow cytometry (FC) in 24 cases with ALL and were determined the relationship between DNA ploidy and prognosis. Eight of 24 (%33.33) cases with ALL had aneuploidy (hyperdiploidy in four cases , hypodiploidy in four cases ). Thirteen cases with ALL had SPF<6% but 11 cases with ALL had SPF>6%. Four cases who had hypodiploidy had high leucocyte count. Seven (20.83 % ) cases died in follow up period. Hypodiploidy was observed in three dead cases but only one case with hyperdiploidy died. SPF was 6 % in four dead cases. Finally, it was observed that there was a relationship between death and hypodiploidy, B- immunophenotyping, leucocyte count.
