Tumor cells tend to remain silent for a long period till day gain a malignant potential and start uncontrolled proliferation accompanied with angiogenesis. The aim of all antiangiogenetic treatment protocols is keeping the endotelial cells in their normal form and at the same time inhibition of cell proliferation and migration. As the process of inhibition of cell proliferation in the capillary bed is much more slower than tumor lysis, this type of treatment with angiogenesis inhibitors must be long and continuous. Side effect such bone marrow suppression, gastrointestinal system dysfunction and alopecia are less prominent with angiogenesis inhibitors compared with those of conventional cytotoxic treatment. The combination of angiogenesis inhibitors with conventional cytotoxic agents is more effective than the effect of each group alone.
