In this study the effect of alcohol in head and neck tumors have been evaluated. 206 patients of histologically proven head and neck tumors and a control group of 206 healthy persons were involved in this paper. A statistical difference between patients and control group was defined due to alcohol beverage (p<0.05). The risk of developing head and neck tumor was 2.0 times greater (p<0.05, %95 CI 1.23-3.43) in alcohol consuming patients in comparison with no users. Increasing risk in incidence of head and neck tumors with the duration and frequency of alcohol consuming and decreasing risk with the time after quitting alcohol were detected.
